DEFCON
DEFCON is the world's largest annual hacker convention, held every year in Las Vegas, Nevada. In 2007, there were over 6,000 people in attendance. Many of the attendees at DEFCON include computer security professionals, journalists, lawyers, federal government employees, crackers, and hackers with a general interest in computer code and computer architecture. DefCon16 is scheduled for August 8-10 at the Riviera Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.

HOPE Conference
The Last HOPE (Hackers On Planet Earth) conference, held July 18-20 in New York City, brought together a wide range of participants and speakers for three days of panels and events involving a wide range of activities, from information manipulation in all its forms to lock picking, bio-engineering and industrial espionage. The Next Hope Conference is scheduled for sometime in 2010.
